WA UPDATE

From Ben Climo

I commenced in the newly created role of Regional Manager for NEOS across WA, SA and NT in late December. With a background in both Advice and Licensing and firsthand experience of the challenges of delivering risk advice at scale and at margin I’m thrilled to have joined NEOS, one of the few platforms that genuinely delivers multiple product solutions within a single, functional system.

It was a pleasure meeting so many planners and principals at the WA and SA Back to Business events. Hearing about your priorities and opportunities has been invaluable, and it’s been encouraging to see how passionate many of you are about expanding risk conversations with clients.

A standout moment was hosting a fantastic group of planners for three days at LIV Golf – great company, meaningful discussions and a memorable event we’ll look to lock in again next year.

I also want to acknowledge the exceptional work of our state leads, Pia Holding in SA and Reon Botha in WA, along with our underwriting and service teams on the ground. Their support for advisers locally is outstanding, and I’m excited to work closely with them to strengthen our presence across the region.

I’m looking forward to building on the momentum of the past two months and championing strong outcomes for your clients and your businesses across WA and SA.

A note from Reon State Lead WA

Its great to have Ben join the NEOS team and having him onboard has really assisted us in furthering our reach in both WA and SA.  I’m still so pleased seeing how our platform continues to develop and resonate with advisers throughout our state particularly as we roll out our Multi Quote tool and see new functionalities introduced. Speaking of new functionalities, I recently presented a Cost to Serve and Benchmarking tool to a few practices who found the results insightful and gave them the opportunity to unpack and discuss various parts of their service delivery and how to improve upon them. If this is of interest, please let us know and one of our team will be glad to work through the software with you.

Latest improvements to the NEOS Platform

In case you missed it, we’ve kicked off 2026 with enhancements to the NEOS Platform, designed to make managing your NEOS clients even easier and more efficient.

  1. Suspense report:Instantly download a PDF snapshot of all proposal applications and any in-force policies with overdue premiums – right from the homepage.
  2. New suspense tab (proposal policies):View outstanding requirements, commission structure and time since submission in one place. You can also securely upload outstanding requirements and send instructions to NEOS.

This week, we’ve also launched:

  1. Correspondence: Access all correspondence from the Policy Servicing Portal, such as application summaries and renewal notices.
  2. Mandatory medicals: Compare mandatory medical requirements across all NEOS Platform products directly from a premium comparison.
  3. UI enhancements: New tooltips and prompts to make it even easier to create premium comparisons and quotes for inforce policies.

To access these features and more, simply login and click the “Policy Servicing” tab.

What’s next?

We’re currently developing an enhanced quote and apply experience across all our products. We’re excited to share more with you soon and will keep you updated.

Improved mandatory medical requirements for NEOS Protection

The mandatory medical limits were recently updated for NEOS Protection, making it quicker and easier to get covered.

You can now apply for the following without medicals:

  • Up to $15,000per month in Income Support Cover across all ages
  • Up to $3min Life and TPD Cover for ages under 50 (for BMIs <30)
  • Up to $1.5min Life Cover for ages 50 and over; and
  • Up to $1.5min TPD Cover for ages 50 to 54, and $1.25m for ages 55 and over.

You can find out more in the Adviser Guide, available on the NEOS Platform.

Simplified ADHD underwriting for NEOS Protection

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnoses and corresponding prescriptions have more than doubled over the last five years. As awareness and understanding of the condition continues to grow, so too does the need for a more practical and efficient underwriting approach.

That’s why NEOS Protection has significantly simplified how ADHD is assessed – particularly mild to moderate cases.

What does this mean?

For those applications where ADHD is disclosed:

  • Up to 40% of applications can now be approved straight away, with no manual underwriting required.
  • Approximately 80% of applications will no longer require a doctor’s report.
  • Faster turnaround times across the board.
  • Less follow-up and fewer delays.

The result? Less chasing. Faster policies. A smoother, more positive client experience.

By modernising our approach to ADHD underwriting for NEOS Protection, we’re reducing unnecessary friction while maintaining robust risk assessment standards – making it easier for you to do business and easier for clients to secure cover.

If you’d like more detail on how this applies to your next application, please contact your BDM or Underwriter.

PY adviser workshop series – Register interest!

NEOS is excited to continue our in-person workshop series designed specifically for Professional Youth Network advisers. These sessions offer a great opportunity to connect with peers, share insights and build the skills that support professional development.

Across the series, we touch on practical areas such as strengthening client conversations, building confidence around underwriting, exploring different approaches to insurance advice, and gaining a clearer understanding of claims and processes – keeping things relevant, engaging and easy to apply.

Each workshop is designed to encourage collaboration, practical learning and meaningful engagement, helping advisers strengthen relationships across the network.

We encourage all PY advisers to register their interest and for practices to nominate team members who would benefit from attending.
